deemed unsuitable for further usage. Refer to the parts list for the correct replacements.
5. Bladder may be checked by inflating to normal size and checking with a soapy solution. After testing, deflate immediately.

Reassembly

1. Replace the shell in the vise, if applicable, again with protective strips.
2. Pour a liberal amount of clean system hydraulic fluid into the shell to serve as a cushion.
3. Attach the bladder pull rod to the bladder valve stems
4. Pass the bladder pull rod through the shell fluid port and out through the valve stem opening (Photo F).
5. Pull the bladder pull rod out of the shell with one hand while feeding the bladder into the shell with the other hand.
6. Position the name- plate over the valve stem (when applicable) and install the valve stem nut by hand. Remove the bladder pull rod.
7. Grasp threaded section of the plug and insert the poppet end into the shell mouth (Photo G).
8. Install anti-extrusion ring inside shell. Fold anti-extrusion ring to enable insertion into shell. Place the anti-extrusion ring on the plug
and poppet assembly with its steel collar toward the shell mouth.
9. Withdraw threaded end of the plug through the shell mouth (Photo H).

10. Using your hands, pull the plug until it seats solidly into position on shell mouth opening.
11. Install valve core. Using dry nitrogen, slowly pressurize the bladder with sufficient pressure (approximately 5 PSIG) to hold plug and
poppet assembly in place so both hands are free to continue with assembly.
12. Install washer onto plug and poppet assembly and push it into shell mouth to bottom it out on anti-extrusion ring.
13. Install “O” ring over plug and poppet assembly and push it into shell mouth to bottom it out against washer. DO NOT TWIST “O” RING. USE CAUTION!
14. Install spacer with the SMALLER DIAMETER of the shoulder TOWARD THE SHELL (Photo I).
15. Install locknut on plug and poppet assembly and tighten securely. This will “squeeze” the “O” ring into place (Photo J).
16. Replace pipe plug into the plug and poppet assembly.

Top Repairable Bladder Accumulator
Preparation for maintenance
1. Exhaust all hydraulic pressure from the system.
2. Remove the valve guard and dynaseal from the accumulator.
3. Use a valve core tool to release gas precharge pressure from the accumulator bladder. Remove valve core.
4. Insure that hydraulic system cannot be
actuated while accumulator is being checked.
